From the CTIA NewsWire: "The use of text messaging by Iranians to send slandering messages on their presidential election choice has some authorities concerned. Election text messaging had already become popular in Tehran prior to the first round vote, when young wireless subscribers sent messages reflecting their cynicism with the electoral process. Tehran's Mayor Mahmood Ahmadinehad recently found himself in a series of unflattering jokes and allegations via text messages, as his foes try to bring out a mass vote to support his competitor. (Source: AFP)" While it's making authorities concerned, I hope this doesn't turn into a full-scale persecution of these same youth... This is very entertaining though... government concerned over youth cynicism about the election. This spells out their belief that these actions will actually make a difference, and that's very very powerful.
